Default awareness of scams

I would like to bring it to the attention of the site owners that alot of vulnerable people on here more and more are being sucked in by well known scams and I think it is very wrong.

At my low stage I was also sucked in by them but eventually realized them for what they are and I think there should either be a page on scam awareness and known scams or a sticky with information provided by people who have experienced them.

there are 2 very prominent websites that I know of and have experienced that are conning vulnerable people out of millions of dollars and people on here in their desperation of all that comes with a diagnosis are falling trap to it and asking about it on here, yet we are not able to answer with detailed information or help them properly.

I would be glad to aid in the information gathering. Over the time of being sucked in I began to learn their tricks and im sure others would help pass on their knowledge to the page too.

there could also be information on the page of how to report illegal scams to the proper places etc.

I think this issue really needs addressing as more and more people seem to be coming on here asking about that stuff and we are inadequetely able to help them.

please reply? thanks

Thumbs up You can flag inappropriate posts

On the top right of every post is a red triangle. Clicking on that will open a window where you can state why you think that post should be removed.

I flag all posts that solicit for any reason.

Default .

thanks but its not really peoples posts that are the problem. its the fact that they are unsure about these scams and the information provided here or anywhere else is not clear or good enough if any.

i think as a community we should have a centre point of scam awareness that we can contribute too and people can readily get the information from.

Redyellowpurpleblue, thank you for the feedback. Are you talking about the "Resolve Herpes" scam?

Over time, our community have posted in-depth responses in order to try and help other members become aware of the pitfalls. One poster went on regardless and bought it saying "I know it is a scam but I want to make sure"... and then found out through experience that it was a money loss after all.

See this thread for example: http://www.herpes-coldsores.com/messageforum/showthread.php?t=13079

It is frustrating because this company makes claims that are so miraculous that people desperately want to believe in them (who wouldn't?). Unfortunately people are willing to spend $300 on the off chance that it is not a scam, even though all reason demonstrates that it is.

If you have suggestions on how we can help our members make more informed decisions please send me a PM. We are always open to new resources that might be of useful to our community.

Default Scams

Hi I am just recently diagnosed, I had sex with a partner who knew they had the virus but didnt tell me and I was devastated...still am I guess and need a way to get this under control.

Everyones immune system is different, alot of people will have this and never know or be affected by it, and others will have their lives ruined by it.

The first thing i did was get online to look for hope, I found dynamiclear, and was skeptical but a pharmacy nearby had it in stock so I tried it...it hasnt been the silver bullet for me that it is for others but thats fine, nearly a week after using it I still have obvious symptoms but they are improving.

You find information on herbs and drugs, and it seems overwhelming, and what one person says works another person will slam as they havent had a result.

I understand the way our bodies deal with viruses, and the problem with this virus is that it hides so the body doesnt know its there and as soon as our body lowers it defences, another outbreak.

I have read pages and pages of information and promises and it does get frustrating. If a product is a definite scam then it would be good to identify these, even give the well known ones their own page so people can read accurate information and compare them along side of reputable products.

In Australia we have PEP available for HIV, a post exposure antiviral, had I found out early enough that my partner had herpes I perhaps may have used that to try and avoid the virus replicating.

Surely though there has to be hope, and the clearer the information available the easier it will be for people find hope, rather than false promises.

Default Resolved Herpes - read this before you spend your money

Yes, it is great to be open to new things that might help but this Resolve site is a known scam.

Unlike some reputable alternative therapies for herpes, the Resolve company:

1. Make big fraudulent claims, such as claiming that people have tested negative to a herpes blood test after testing positive previously, this is complete rubbish. All herpes blood tests work by detecting HSV antibodies which remain in the body for life.

FYI, your body does not get rid of antibodies because they are made to help you fight off similar conditions in the future. Resolve have since changed their website to be more "flexible" with this claim after we posted this technical inaccuracy.

2. The Resolve formula is virtually the same as the raved about Miracle Mineral Supplement (MMS) which you can buy for about $15 from a range of suppliers and get the same great or not so great results, depending on how it works for you. Resolve claim it is "similar" but not the same, but you will find that the active and the principle is identical.

3. Their guarantee is designed to fail you, that is when they had a money-back guarantee. In the past the Resolve guarantee stipulated a range of conditions including that you could not have sex during the 90 day detox period (now changed to 50 days) and that you had to have a blood test to prove your results before you could get a refund. One lady reported that she asked for a refund and was denied because she was unable to PROVE that she followed their rules. They have recently removed any reference of the guarantee terms from their FAQ.

4. When you contact the company to ask for evidence of their claims, such as clinical trials or something more substantial than their word, their response is either a non-response (they avoid the question) or you are advised to look out for a book that will be coming out soon. Then they restate their claims "you will be free of herpes after you take our detox" etc.

The list goes on... if you have a solid understanding of viruses, chemistry and marketing you can see the holes in this information a mile off.

We understand that people will still purchase a product if it claims to be a complete "herpes cure" no matter what, and this is what this company is relying on in order to make a cool 300 bucks from you and others in the same situation.

Good luck with whatever path you choose.

PEP for HIV would not have effect on herpes. HIV is an RNA retrovirus and herpes is a DNA virus. The HIV drugs have a completely different mode of action and would not have effect on herpes.

There is some evidence that using famvir as a PEP agent may have an effect such that the person has fewer breakouts but it cannot prevent latency or infection

Default Medavir & DMSO

Has anyone heard or used the products
1. Medavir: Can be used when you first feel tingling, itching or swelling under your skin, even before a breakout usually stop an outbreak. Also highly effective even after a breakout erupts, quickly stop itching and pain, helping to dry up the outbreak's fluids.
2. A three-day procedure from Never An Outbreak by using DMSO cream and O2xy to prevent a future outbreak.
I went Google and found both pros and cons about the above 2 products but you never know who did the reviews. Can you help?

Default "ResolveHerpes" SCAM

I purchased two "ResolveHerpes" kits for me and my girlfriend and we've had NO success at all!! My girlfriend still has outbreaks each and every month during her periods. Every time I ask for my money back they say that all she needs to do is to do the entire treatment yet again. And when that didn't work they said that all she needed to do was the "Boost" phase of the treatment. Why didn't they say this upfront? She's done this treatment several times now including the "Boost" phase. Each time they come up with some excuse not to give a refund. Amnd yes, the ingredients are the same as the MMS product that costs only $23 or less depending on where you buy it. The ingredients Sodium Chlorite and Citric Acid (which when combined create chlorine dioxide) are dirt cheap! so why in the world are they charging hundreds of dollars for it? GREED!! Steer clear of "ResolveHerpes" and buy MMS for next to nothing if you really want to try and see if chlorine dioxide will work for you. In theory it sounds great. Chlorine Dioxide is powerful stuff. Some water purification tablets are composed of it but it didn't help my girlfriend at all.
