Default HSV Trigger Foods

Hey, folks.

http://www.joot.com/dave/writings/articles/sores.shtml

The above article has a huge list of foods that may trigger HSV-1 reactions. Well worth the read. By avoiding the foods, my outbreaks went from one every three months down to a couple a year -- and each time, I could attribute it to one of those foods. Of course, it has only been about a year since I killed my diet, but hey ...

Ciao!

Default Trigger foods

I have HSV2 and believe it or not corn is my trigger food. I was devestated when I found this out because I love tacos, popcorn, corndogs, corn on the cob etc. etc. I have always found acyclovir to be helpful after an outbreak but am now on 800mg 4X day because of possible EBV virus. I was wondering if I am on such a high dose and will be for at least 6 months if I will be able to eat corn with no effect while on this protocol. I know it will be taking a chance but the thought of being able to eat popcorn after 16 years of abstaining is mouth watering to say the least. Any thoughts???

thanx ouch.

I saw oats on some of the trigger lists. I have lots of triggers so looking at differing lists sometimes comes up with something that was missed on another.

Hi Hi folks.

I have just been reading over the posts on trigger foods. And i am concerned. I have checked a couple of the lists especially this one at http://www.globalherbalsupplies.com/...tion.htm#table

Because I eat most of the things they say not to eat. I mean damn I already have HSV now I have to starve to death too?

Anyway...I think if taken in the strictest sense we will end up killing ourselves faster than cure ourselves. As far as I went through that list the majority of foods our bodies need for other puporses.

This is just my opinion...Get suppliements. Multi Vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin B50, Lysine tabs. Check out some of those Body bulding nutritions stuff like Whey Gold Standard dietary supplement (5 times more Lys than Arg). Excercise and get good nights sleep. Been working for me.

Dont get stress. Eat properly... A proper meal helps. Bring your body into a good chemical balance. yeah try to cut down the Arg intake... but if you cut out all those things like whats on that list what the hell are you left with? How is your body gonna achieve the balance it needs to stay healthy? If any one food alone triggers an outbreak my belief is either I had too much of that one thing or my body is seriously out of whack.

I do watch what I eat especially if I get an outbreak to try to determine if that food is causing it or helping it but I also pay attention to my state of mind and how my body is feeling in general.

Chic with the corn...you probably been eating corn all ya life. And more so as you got older. Your body is naturally gonna try to defend itself when it thinks its at a limit one way or the other. Just now with so much in your system its easy for an OB to be triggered.

Check the other foods you eat, see if then contain anything with corn. Corn is used as a direct or other product of a number foods. Who knows might be something else with the corn.

Be good ya'll
